CENTRALIA — The South Central Illinois Growth Alliance (SCIGA) voted at Wednesday’s meeting to pledge up to $10,000 towards the costs of instruction for introduction to manufacturing courses taught by Kaskaskia College.

The intent of the program is that the course completers would then become employed at participating manufacturers throughout the KC district.

The model would be very similar to the Magna Track Model offered at Nashville through Nascote.

It is anticipated that courses would begin as early as summer semester and/or the fall 2018 semester.
