JEFFERSON COUNTY — A Thursday morning fire destroyed a large barn and its contents in rural Ina.

According to the Jefferson Rural Fire Department, when they arrived around 11 a.m. in the 7000 block of Spring Garden Road, an 80 by 100 feet barn was fully engulfed in flames and was already collapsing.

The barn reportedly contained a tractor and 120 large bales of hay. The cause of the fire remains unknown.

Waltonville and Bluford firefighters assisted at the scene. Firefighters were on scene for about two hours.
