One driver killed in two-vehicle crash on IL 15 near Nashville

WASHINGTON COUNTY — The driver of a 2014 Chevrolet Impala was killed Tuesday afternoon in a two-car crash on Illinois Route 15 near Nashville.

According to the Illinois State Police, just after 1 p.m. Tuesday, the Impala was traveling eastbound on Illinois Route 15, approximately a tenth of a mile east of Raven Road when it crossed the center line and struck a westbound Ford truck head-on. Both vehicles came to rest on the north side of the roadway.

A 36-year-old Ashley man was driving the Ford. He suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The driver of the Impala was fatally injured and authorities are withholding the name pending notification of family.

Illinois Route 15 was closed for approximately 3 hours for crash investigation and clean up.
