FAYETTE COUNTY — Fayette County Sheriff Chris Smith arrested two Decatur men Tuesday on multiple charges after they sped through a School Zone in Ramsey.

According to Smith, he arrested 26-year-old Brandon D. Perkins and 25-year-old Jacorey A. Walker, for alleged possession of a stolen gun, possession of stolen property, and possession of a weapon without a FOID card after he stopped them for driving 60 miles per hour through the crosswalk of a 30 mile per hour zone on Route 51 and Sixth Street in Ramsey.

Smith also charged them with driving 60 mph in a 30 mph zone, reckless driving, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.

They remain in the Fayette County Jail awaiting the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail in Fayette County Court.

Smith said he was glad to be in the right place at the right time and that this is why he likes to work School Zones when he can.
