ISP releases names of men involved in fatal crash near Nashville

WASHINGTON COUNTY — ISP has identified a 58-year-old Freeburg man as the driver of a 2014 Chevrolet Impala who was killed Tuesday afternoon in a two-car crash in Washington County.

According to the Illinois State Police, John Frye was driving the Impala eastbound on Illinois Route 15, approximately a tenth of a mile east of Raven Road when it crossed the center line and struck a westbound 2017 Ford truck driven by 36-year-old Micah Rincker, of Ashley head-on. Both vehicles came to rest on the north side of the roadway.

Rincker was driving the Ford and suffered non-life threatening injuries. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

Frye suffered fatal injuries.

Illinois Route 15 was closed for approximately 3 hours for crash investigation and clean up.
