CENTRALIA — Gov. Bruce Rauner toured the Warren G. Murray Developmental Center in Centralia earlier today.

Rauner met with Centralia Mayor Tom Ashby, facility staff and parents before visiting with residents.

The governor pledged his continued support for the Center and praised staff and parents for their unrelenting dedication to the care of residents.

His FY19 budget asks the legislature to increase funding for developmental disabilities. Mayor Ashby proclaimed March 2, 2018 as “Gov. Rauner Day” in Centralia and presented him with the key to the city. It is the first time the Mayor has ever given the key to Centralia to anyone.
