Keith Gregg Jr. was arrested for alleged aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery, unlawful restraint, and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.

Centralia police received a report of around 12:15 p.m. Saturday of a male subject holding a female hostage.

The male subject was reported to have a knife and pepper spray and reported to have been holding a female against her will, since Friday night.

Police also had information that the suspect had poured a flammable substance on the curtains in the residence and threatened to harm the female and light the apartment on fire, if police were called.

Officers responded to the scene and evacuated others in nearby residences. Centralia Fire Department and Lifestar Ambulance were staged nearby throughout the incident.

Gregg pleaded guilty Tuesday, February 27, in Marion County Court to an earlier charge of misdemeanor domestic battery and was sentenced to 2-years probation, and 28-days in jail with credit for 28-days served.
