Anthony Hernandez reportedly fled on foot when Sandoval police approached him in the Casey’s General Store parking lot.

The officer pursued and ultimately found Hernandez on Wall Street where he reportedly resisted being handcuffed. He was subsequently taken to the ground where two other officers placed him in handcuffs.

Hernandez was transported to the Centralia Police Department for questioning in the theft of a puppy, a pack of cigarettes, and $20 in cash. The dog was later returned to the owner after it had reportedly been sold to someone else.

Hernandez is alleged to have taken the items while visiting at a home on South Elm in Centralia January. He had been listed as a person of interest in the case since that time.
