Another Centralia shooting leaves victim in St. Louis Hospital, unrelated to Friday shooting

CENTRALIA — Centralia Police are investigating another shooting, this time in the 500 block of Jackson at 3:28 on Sunday afternoon.

Multiple shots were fired into a group of people outside of a home, wounding one. The unidentified victim was taken to SSM Health/St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia before being transported by helicopter to a St. Louis-area hospital.

Police reports indicate that a Blue GMC wanted in connection with the shooting was found later in the afternoon. Two people were discovered inside and taken into custody for questioning. It is not yet clear if either was the shooter.

The shooting does not appear to be related to a Friday night shooting at a home on Maple and Noleman that also saw a victim taken to a St. Louis Hospital. Centralia Police continue their investigation into both shootings.
