CLAY COUNTY — A one-vehicle crash Friday night in Clay County sent three people to the hospital – two by medical helicopter.

According to the Illinois State Police, the crash happened around 11:21 p.m. Friday on North State Road just east of U.S. 45 two miles south of Louisville.

Preliminary crash details show a car driven by 28-year-old William Krantz of Louisville was traveling westbound on North State Road when it drove off the left side of the roadway into the ditch embankment and struck a culvert before overturning.

Krantz, along with two passengers, 26-year-old Jorie Fulk of Olney and 26-year-old Dylan Willis of Louisville, were all ejected from the vehicle and injured.

Krantz was transported to the Clay County Hospital while both passengers were airlifted to Carle Hospital in Champaign.

Krantz was cited for driving under the influence, improper lane usage, illegal transportation of alcohol, failure to wear a seat belt and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Police say charges are also pending against Fulk and Willis.
