BENTON — A 28-year-old Centralia man is in the Franklin County Jail after he was arrested Tuesday by Benton police on a weapons charge.

Benton police arrested Brandon M. Rasch, after they responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle. A search of the vehicle reportedly revealed Rasch was in possession of a firearm. He was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card.

Rasch is also a convicted felon. Court records show he pleaded guilty in 2014 in Franklin County to a Class 3 felony charge of possessing less than 5-grams of methamphetamine.

He’s currently facing two Class 2 felony charges in Jackson County for possession of meth precursors and meth manufacturing material. Rasch is scheduled to enter a guilty plea on April 26 in that 2017 case.
