JEFFERSON COUNTY — A 26-year-old Mt. Vernon man was arrested early Friday morning when the Mt. Vernon Police Department/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office High Risk Team executed a narcotics search warrant at 2517 Herbert Street in Mt. Vernon.

The primary resident, Shariff Stuckey, was taken into custody around 6:40 a.m. and transported to the Jefferson County Jail on two counts manufacture with the intent to deliver a controlled substance within 500 feet of a park.

The warrant was the result of a Mt. Vernon Police Department Narcotics Division investigation. Officers reportedly seized rock or “crack” cocaine, powder cocaine, and cash from the dwelling.

Stucky remains in the Jefferson County Jail awaiting the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
