CLAY COUNTY — As a result of an ongoing investigation by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, two arrests have been made in two recent ATV thefts.

The sheriff’s office received reports of two ATVs being stolen, the first on November 1 in Xenia Township and the second on January 12 in southeastern Harter Township. Both ATVs were later recovered by law enforcement.

On April 16, Centralia police arrested 23-year-old Brandon Goodiel, of Cisne, on an outstanding Clay County warrant for unlawful possession of vehicle with a destroyed vehicle identification number, theft over $500, and obstructing justice. Bail was set at $10,000, and Goodiel was released after posting 10% cash bond.

On the same date 18-year-old Coulten Hunt, of Cisne, was arrested by a Clay County Sheriff’s deputy on an outstanding Clay County warrant for theft over $500. Bail was set at $7,500. Hunt posted $750 cash bond and was released.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Clay County State’s Attorney’s Office, Centralia Police Department, Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, and the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
