Jefferson County CEO Students Showcase Businesses at Expo

MT. VERNON — Students from the 2017-18 Jefferson County Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities Class showcased their student-run businesses at the Mt. Vernon DoubleTree by Hilton on Thursday.

The Expo marked the culmination of an entire school year’s worth of work as students were able to display their products and services to all in attendance.

The students were presented awards from civic and business leaders. Kaden Devore was voted by peers as the winner of the Great Expectations Award. Raquel Minor was chosen for the Jefferson County Chamber Award and will receive membership.

The following students received People’s Choice “Best in Show” Awards:
1st place: Madison Bock
2nd place: Torean Moore
3rd place: Kaden Devore
4th place: Nemanja Milovanovic

The businesses ranged from custom sporting goods, to automotive care, to personal needs, as well as trade services.

The Jefferson County CEO is comprised of seniors from each high school in the county. Students must apply for the program. Reportedly 24 students have been accepted into the program for the 2018-19 school year.
