CENTRALIA — Centralia police say they are attempting to locate a suspect in a string of overnight burglaries in town that included St. Mary Catholic School.

According to Centralia Police Chief Brian Atchison, his department received its first indication of the situation with a burglar alarm call at 12:20 a.m. from the Farm Fresh store in the 500 block of South Poplar.

Atchison says entry was made to the store but it was not a forced entry. Calls continued to come in of other burglaries until around 8 a.m. Monday.

Other locations entered include the Poplar Place — where a door was damaged when the building was entered – Ross Flower Shop in the 700 block of South Poplar, and Route 51 Barbershop and Salon in the 600 block of South Poplar.

Atchison says they have a suspect they believe responsible for the incidents and are currently attempting to locate that person.

St. Mary School canceled classes Monday due to the burglary.
