CENTRALIA — Pauline Frances Goodchild, 92, of Centralia, passed away Monday, October 7, 2019 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
She is survived by two daughters: Polly Dersch of Centralia and Renee Proskey of Laurel, MD; six grandchildren: A.J. Kelsheimer and wife Kelly of Middletown, NJ, Jamie Cole and husband Tobie of Centralia, Troy Kelsheimer and wife Cassie of Seminole, FL, Brandon Proskey of Baltimore, MD, Natalie Maisel and husband Josh of Stevensville, MD, Rachel Stinchcomb and husband Chris of Pasadena, MD, Lucille Pietrowski and husband Derek of Wood Dale, IL; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and three brothers.
Pauline lived most of her life in Chicago, where she raised her two daughters. She worked at Ingersoll Borg-Warner Company until it closed, then at Beverly Bank in Oak Lawn, IL until she retired. She then moved to Florida, where she was a caregiver to her sister, brother-in-law and her mother-in-law and was a Pink Lady for Meece Hospital in Florida. In 2004 she moved to Centralia to be close to her daughter, Polly. She worked as a Pink Lady at St. Mary’s for about eight years until her 90th birthday. Pauline was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Centralia. She went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus after about six months of illness.
Per Pauline’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and no public services will be held.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s Church and St. Mary’s School and will be accepted Hillcrest Funeral Home and Cremation Center at P.O. Box 745 Centralia, Illinois 62801, who is honored to be of service to the Goodchild family.
