CENTRALIA — Centralia police have arrested a second suspect in the Friday afternoon shooting of two men at a westside apartment.

According to Police Chief Greg Dodson, 18-year-old Trevin Hendricks, of Centralia, was arrested at an address in the 1600 block of South Hickory Tuesday on three counts of Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm and three counts of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm.

Hendricks was taken to the Clinton County Jail to await the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail. Also in the Clinton County Jail awaiting charges in connection with the Friday shooting is 19-year-old Dalton Garrison. Garrison turned himself in earlier.

According to Dodson, the shooting occurred around 3:17 p.m. Friday in an apartment unit in 1700 West McCord Street. Witnesses stated the suspects left the scene, in a White Mercury SUV after a 29-year-old male from Centralia had been shot twice and a 30-year-old male from Peoria had been shot once. Both victims were transported to St Louis Hospitals for treatment and one has since been released.

Later that same day the mercury SUV was found burnt in what is suspected as an attempt to destroy evidence related to the shooting

Through victim and witness statements as well as other sources, Garrison and Hendricks were identified as suspects.
