JEFFERSON COUNTY — Jefferson County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a possible road rage incident Monday night on Route 37 that reportedly included shots being fired.

According to Sheriff Jeff Bullard, a 32-year-old Mt. Vernon man called 911 just before 8 p.m. Monday and reported that on his way home on Route 37 near Game Farm a vehicle came up behind him flashing its lights.

The man pulled over and as the other vehicle passed him gunshots were fired.

Detectives responded to the scene and one bullet hole was found in the man’s vehicle and another in a nearby residence. No injuries were reported.
