ILLINOIS — Positive tests for COVID-19 in Illinois topped 3,000 Friday, with 488 new cases confirmed and eight additional deaths.

The St. Clair County Health Department is reporting a woman in her 80s died Friday from the coronavirus. The woman did have underlining health conditions. And Jefferson County on Thursday reported its first positive case. These reports, however, are not currently reflected on the IDPH website.

Currently, IDPH is reporting a total of 3,026 cases, including 34 deaths, in 40 counties in Illinois. More than 21,000 Illinoisans have been tested.
