SALEM — David A. Morlan, 72, of Salem, passed away June 17, 2020, at his home in the care of his loving family.
Born March 10, 1948, in Mt. Vernon, he was the son of Earl M. and Elsa (Boldrey) Morlan who preceded him in death.
He was active in the insurance business prior to retirement. He was a loyal member of the Salem Elks Club, and avid fan of FOX News and would be first to promote TRUMP 2020. He was a member of City Hope Church in Centralia, and was baptized on September 17, 2018.
He married Joan Ebert and they later divorced. He was united in marriage May 9, 1987, in Salem with Marilyn Bartley and she survives in Salem.
Also surviving are his children, Todd Morlan and wife Kristin of Destin, FL, Jennifer Leigh Wyss and husband Mike of Plainfield, IL, Jennifer Murray and husband Tracy of Patoka, IL and Jeff Steevens of Salem, IL along with 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
His is also survived by his siblings, Rev. Robert Morlan and wife Jann of AZ, Ed Morlan and wife Lesa of Mt. Vernon, IL, Richard Morlan and wife Karen of Bourbonnais, IL, Carolyn Sledge, Brenda Stewart, Toni Crowder and husband Mario all of Mt. Vernon, IL, Sheila Burgess and husband Stanley, and Lydia Horton both of Salem, IL. Also, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara Easley and husband Chuck of Lake MyKee, MO.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Peggy Hayes and Judith Chrum.
The family has arranged a Celebration of Life Service to be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 26, 2020, at the Salem Elks Club. They will receive friends from 9 a.m. until the service hour at the Elks.
