IUKA — Michelle “Momma” Iffert passed away on peacefully in her home on October 2, 2020, after her battle with cancer.
On August 29, 1992, she married the love of her life, Shannon “Bubba” Iffert, who survives in Iuka, and they brought into this world two daughters: Ashley (Iffert) Schaubert and her husband Heath and Heather (Iffert) Hester and her husband Levi, who absolutely adored her, along with her mother: Carolyn Jones and her brother: Michael Jones and his wife Peggy. When she married Shannon, she gained three wonderful sisters, Becky (Iffert) Shew and her husband Brad, Christy (Iffert) Blank and her husband Ryan, and Beth (Iffert) Cantrell and her husband Gary, as well as another set of beautiful parents, Donald and Linda Iffert.
Michelle always wanted to live life to the fullest and with her husband, she did. She loved most, spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed “quiet” evenings with her husband, daughters, sons-in-law, and three grandchildren, Cooper, Cormick, and Shannon. She was excited about welcoming a new grandbaby in January 2021. She also loved vacationing with family and friends, going on motorcycle rides, sharing meals with those she loved, especially at the Elks, and camping at the Salem Sportsman Club in which they are members of both. She was also a long-time member of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Salem. She was close with her Savior and is with Him now on the Feast Day of Guardian Angels.
Michelle loved fiercely and to know her was to love her in return. She put everything she had into everything she did, whether that be protecting a loved one or playing a prank on them with a mischievous grin. She also put everything she had into fighting to stay with her loved ones.
Momma leaves behind a legacy of love that will never be forgotten and will continue to grow through all those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, and angel baby, whom she miscarried in 2001. She leaves behind her husband, two daughters and sons-in-law, four grandbabies, mother, brother, sisters and brothers-in-law, mother and father-in-law, nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
