SALEM — Area law enforcement responded just after 11 a.m. this morning to a location on Nature Lane just north of U.S. 50 on a report of a person shot.

EMS was instructed to stage at Radio Tower Road east of Salem but the victim had already been transported by private vehicle to a local ER.

Deputies were investigating a suspicious person walking in the area, while others went to the hospital to interview possible witnesses.
