CENTRALIA — John H. Vaughn, 84, of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020, at Salem Township Hospital in Salem, Illinois.
In addition to his wife of 64 years, Mable Vaughn of Centralia, he is also survived by his five children: Danny Joe Vaughn of Centralia, Bob Vaughn and wife Michele of Centralia, Nancy Candler and fiance Steve Lucking of Centralia, John A. Vaughn and wife Colleen of New Jersey, and Tony L. Vaughn and wife Karen of Branson, Missouri; 18 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son: George Vaughn, three brothers: Bob Vaughn, Ed Vaughn, Leonard Vaughn, and four sisters: Hazel Boyce, Alice Smith, Jean Millikan, and Effie Vaughn.
John enjoyed doing yard work and working on cars. He was a member of Eternity Baptist Church in Centralia. John was a very devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Per John’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Red Cross and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home and Cremation Services at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, 618-532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Vaughn family.
