MARION COUNTY — A 31-year-old Kinmundy woman was formally charged Monday morning in Marion County Court with multiple Class X felonies accusing her of child sex crimes.

Vickie Odem had been arrested in Clay County on a $500,000 Marion County warrant issued November 20 and remains in the Marion County Jail.
The warrant charges Odem with two Class X felony counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a victim under the age of 13 and four Class X felony counts of child pornography depicting a child under the age of 13.
The file was ordered sealed pending her arrest and bail was set at half-a-million dollars. If she is able to post bond and gain release from the Marion County Jail, she is prohibited from having contact with anyone under the age of 18.
She was advised of the charges Monday via Zoom conference and a December 15 date was set for a preliminary hearing and first appearance with an attorney.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department investigated the case with the sexual assault charges dating back to July of this year and the child pornography charges dating back to August.
Judge Mark Stedelin found probable cause on November 20 to charge Odem with the six Class X offenses and issued the warrant for her arrest.
