CENTRALIA — The City of Centralia has its ballot lineup for the April 2021 Consolidated Election.

A lottery was held Tuesday in Council Chambers of the Centralia City Hall, to decide ballot placement of candidates running for two four-year council seats currently held by councilmen Howard Jones and Andre Marshall.

Robert “Rob” Jackson will appear first on the ballot for one of the two available council seats, followed by Jason A. Hunter, Jeffrey J. Castellari, Israel D. Fontanez Jr., and Bradley Kent Jones.

For the unexpired two-years available for Centralia Mayor, Bryan Kuder will appear at the top of the ballot followed by Herb E. Williams.

Kuder was elected to the Mayor’s seat in 2019 but his victory was ultimately vacated by the city council after it was alleged he did not meet the residency requirement.

He has since filed a lawsuit against the City to have that decision overturned. However, the case continues to languish in Marion County Court.

Due to Kuder’s victory being vacated, Herb Williams was appointed to fill two years of the four-year seat resulting in the need for the April election.
