SALEM — Anna Ruth Arnold, 93, of Salem, IL and formerly of Mt. Vernon passed away January 13, 2021, at Doctors Health and Rehabilitation Center in Salem.
Anna Ruth was a member of Marlow General Baptist Church. She worked for many years at the Mt. Vernon Shoe Factory formerly located there. Personally, Anna had a very sweet personality, was a very smart dresser, and loved animals, especially her Missy and Babe. She was looking forward to the birth of a new great-grandchild.
She married James “Bud” Arnold on May 15, 1966, in Mt. Vernon, IL and he preceded her in death June 20, 1994.
Surviving are her children James Arnold, Jr. of Corpus Christie, TX and Lilah Mae Hale of Midland, TX along with eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Also her loving siblings Kenneth Gregory of East Alton, IL and Martha Malcolm of Salem, IL along with her nieces and caregivers, Theresa Slater of Salem, Francis Kirkpatrick and Helen Sims both of Mt. Vernon.
The family request you gather with them at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Memorial Cemetery, 3024 S. 10th St., Mt. Vernon, IL for graveside services. Due to recent health concerns, it is imperative that masks be worn and social distancing is respected as requested by the CDC
