Earline Kohrig

SALEM — Earline Kohrig, 97, of Salem, Illinois passed away Friday , February 5, 2021 at the Odin Care Center.

Born April 13, 1923 in Kell, IL, she was the daughter of Alfred E. and Effie Jane (Williams) Thomas who preceded her in death.

She married Karl R. Kohrig, March 6, 1942 in Salem and he preceded her in death December 18, 1994.

A homemaker, Earline retired as a clerk from Country Gardens Foodliner, formerly of Salem. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Salem.

She is survived by her sons, Tom Kohrig and wife Lynn of Salem, Tony Kohrig and wife Nancy of O’Fallon, IL and Giz Kohrig and wife Julie of Salem, along with grandchildren Lance Fancher of Vienna, IL, Nathan Kohrig of Salem, IL, Laura (Jeff) Diekemper of Carlyle, IL, Luke (Alecia) Fancher of Fort Mill SC,, Ryan (Lindsey Rithamel) Kohrig, St. Croix, VI, Jamie (Scott) Harter of Estero, FL, Jonathan Kohrig, E. Peoria, IL, along with great grandchildren Devin Diekemper, Abigayle Diekemper, Carlee Fancher, Gavin Fancher, Raegan Fancher, Kylie Kohrig, Aiden Licklider, Chloe and Abbey Harter.

Also left to mourn her passing is her sister, Jane Morgan of Salem,

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her son, John Kohrig, sisters Tommie Adams, Helen Blain, brothers J. R. Thomas, Bill Thomas, brothers-in-law, Bill Adams, Jack Blain, Don Morgan and sisters-in-law Mary Thomas and Elaine Thomas

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Salem with burial in Paradise Cemetery in Salem. Dr. Andy DeWitt will be officiating.

Visiting hours will be Monday from 5-7 p.m. at the church and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the service hour. The family appreciates your understanding the importance of wearing masks which will be provided if necessary, and respecting social distancing in accordance with the CDC and State of Illinois Phase 4 Revitalization guidelines.
