FAYETTE COUNTY — Bail has been set at $250,000 for a 37-year-old Vandalia man is facing child pornography charges following his arrest Thursday.

According to the Fayette County State’s Attorney’s Office, they have filed two Class X felony charges against Andrew S. Wehrle for alleged dissemination of child pornography.

The first count alleges that Wehrle disseminated a depiction by computer of a child the state says the defendant reasonably should have known to be under the age of 18, “which did show such child actually or by simulation engaged in an act of masturbation.”

The second count alleges Wehrle disseminated a depiction by computer of a child the state says the defendant reasonably should have known to be under the age of 18, “which did show such child actually or by simulation engaged in an act of sexual conduct with another person.”

Both counts are Class X Felonies, which can carry a sentence of 6 to 30 years in prison.
