Marilyn Ann Erbes

CENTRALIA — Marilyn Ann Erbes, 91, of Centralia passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at Centralia Manor.

Marilyn was born March 27, 1930, in Beardstown, IL, the daughter of Daniel May and Mathilda (Poggenmoeller) May. She married William Edward Erbes on January 28, 1951, and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2015.

Marilyn is survived by her by two sons: Richard Erbes and wife Ruth of Centralia and David Erbes and wife Peggy of Centralia; three grandchildren: Darrell Erbes and wife Canna of Centralia, Jason Erbes and Brenna Mathis of Centralia, and Melissa Bradham and husband Danny of Centralia; three great-granddaughters: Stephanie Erbes, Serena Erbes, and Chevelle Bradham all of Centralia; one brother: Don May and wife Marilyn of Centralia; one sister: Gloria Pursell and husband Jerry of Marietta, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband William Erbes; her parents: Daniel and Mathilda May; and two sisters: Barbara Phillips and Velma Laughunn.

Marilyn was a devout Lutheran all her life, from baptism to death. She was an active member in her church and often helped other ladies of the church with funeral dinners and such. She loved to cook and her family said she would make the best homemade apple pie and potato salad. She was in a ladies bowling league in her younger years and was a member of a Rock and Mineral Club. Most importantly she loved her family and will be dearly missed by them in turn.

Funeral services for Marilyn Erbes will be held at 12 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2021, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia with Pastor Miguel Torneire officiating. Entombment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Monday, April 5, 2021, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Centralia.
