According to Centralia Police Chief Greg Dodson, officers initially were responding to a call of multiple vehicles chasing each other around the northeast section of Centralia.

Dodson says officers arrived in the 1200 block of McKee at almost the same time as the suspect vehicles and at almost the same time that shots were fired. 10 people were taken into custody at the scene including six juveniles.

Only one of the four adults — 20-year-old Arthur Scott — was arrested and two firearms were seized. Scott was taken into custody on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a stolen firearm. He was charged Tuesday in Marion County Court with Class 2 felony possession of a stolen firearm.

Dodson explained that the conflict between the people involved stemmed from a personal dispute between two of the female juveniles.
