According to Wamac police, James Miller was involved in a physical altercation with 26-year-old Michael Daiber, of Breese, outside McGuire’s Grill and Bar in Wamac.

Daiber was reportedly stabbed nine times throughout his body during an altercation with Miller that apparently began after they had left the building.

Daiber was initially taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia for treatment of his wounds and Wamac police were notified. Daiber was subsequently transferred to a St. Louis area hospital and was later released.

It’s believed Miller later left the state for several weeks before being arrested Sunday night.
