George Hatcher

CENTRAL CITY — George Hatcher, 58, of Central City, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

George was born June 15, 1962, in Lubbock, Texas, son of Daniel Lee Hatcher and Patsy Mae (Quick) Hatcher. He married his high school sweetheart, Juli Bryant on April 20, 1990, and she survives in Central City.

In addition to his wife of 31 years, Juli Hatcher of Central City, he is also survived by his three children: Jeff Hodge of Marion, Amanda Harvey and husband Austin of Salem and Eric Hatcher and wife Jessica of Central City; grandchildren: Kaylee Hodge, Parker Hodge, Carly Parks, Abbie Paskavich and husband Tylor, Josh Harvey, Xavier Harvey, Kaitlin Hatcher, and John Hatcher; a great-grandson: Kingston Paskavich; two brothers: David Hatcher of Central City and Eric Mathis of Central City; one sister, Patty Smith and husband Mickey of Centralia; a sister-in-law, Melisa Hatcher of Colorado; several nieces and nephews.

George was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents: Lee and Marguite Quick, George and Millie Faith and Bishop D. Hatcher, two brothers: Bishop Dale Hatcher and Terry Hatcher, and three sisters-in-law: Loretta Hatcher, Margaret Hatcher, and Rhonda Hatcher.

George was a graduate of the Centralia High School Class of 1981. He worked at Gilster Mary-Lee for 10 years and worked at North American Lighting for 2 1/2 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan, watching the Dallas Cowboys, an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s fan, fishing and going to car shows. He was a member of the Central City Lions Club. He was a Boy Scout Leader of Troop 260 and baseball coach for his sons. George loved spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends.

Funeral services for George L. Hatcher will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29, 2021, at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home in Centralia with Pastor Steve Upchurch officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Evergreen Cemetery in Central City.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2021, at the funeral home.
