Pedestrian killed in Wednesday night crash near Bonnie

JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash Wednesday night near Bonnie that resulted in the death of a 40-year-old male pedestrian.

According to Sheriff Jeff Bullard, around 10:47 p.m. Wednesday, deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on Illinois Highway 37 just north of Bonnie.

The driver, 22-year-old Taylor B. Bizaillion, of Tamaroa, was driving a gray 2015 Nissan. The pedestrian has been identified as 40-year-old Travis W. Jackson, of Bonnie.

When the first deputy arrived on the scene he reportedly discovered a pedestrian had been struck and killed. Illinois State Police traffic crash reconstruction was called to assist.
