MARION COUNTY — The Marion County Health Department announced Tuesday the deaths of two individuals from COVID-19 complications during a four-day reporting period, bringing the county pandemic death toll to 155 people.

According to health officials, the deaths were of two men in their 60s. Neither was a long-term care resident and neither man was vaccinated against COVID-19. Both were hospitalized at the time of their deaths but only one was on a ventilator.

During that same reporting period – from October 30 through November 2, 28 new cases were confirmed in Marion County. Of those testing positive, none were long-term care residents, six were school-age children, two were four years old and younger, 22 were community spread and six were household or close contacts.

None of the 28 new cases were fully vaccinated.
