MARION COUNTY — Strong winds Wednesday and overnight created problems across Marion County with downed power lines and even one fire.

One power line sparked as it fell at Citation Oil on Hoots Chapel Road near Red Stripe Road resulting in a fire spreading across three to four acres of tall grass. The flames spread quickly due to the high winds.

In Centralia, city firefighters responded when high winds caused a tree limb that fell onto a power line and broke the power pole near Second and Pine resulting in an overnight power outage in that area.
