CENTRALIA — Centralia police arrested a 29-year-old woman Wednesday night stemming from the stabbing of another woman in the 400 block of North Elm Street.
According to Police Chief Greg Dodson, officers responded around 8:15 p.m. to a report of a stabbing at the Midtown Apartments.
They then arrested Rayann Mandrell, of Centralia, for alleged armed violence with a weapon, aggravated battery and home invasion in connection with the stabbing of 26-year-old Mercedes Williams a resident of the Midtown Apartments. She was taken into custody without incident.
Dodson says witness statements claim Mandrell stabbed Williams after a disagreement over money and drugs.
Williams was transported to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Mandrell was transported to the Marion County Jail where she awaits the formal filing of charges and the setting of bail.
