Denver Ray Mullins, 85, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 10:47 am May 12, 2022 at Saint Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri.

He was born June 21, 1936 in Yount, Missouri to Harley “Buck” and Grace (Bowling) Mullins. Denver married Betty (Boyd) Mullins on June 21, 1958 in Logan Street Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois. In addition to his loving wife of nearly sixty-four years, Denver is survived by his daughter, Ginger McLean and husband, Terry of Mount Vernon, Illinois; sons, Greg Mullins and fiancée, Tamara Jordan of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Jeffrey Mullins and wife, Pamela of Mount Vernon, Illinois; grandchildren, Elexis Bell and Gerad, Bianca Sauls and Michael, Darean Mullins and Tessa, Blaze Burwell and Lindsey, Devin McLean, Dylan McLean; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.In addition to his parents, Denver was preceded in death by his brothers, Rolla “Moon” Mullins and Gene Mullins. Mr. Mullins proudly served his country in the United States Army in Korea. He was a member of Central Christian Church, Egyptian Antique Car Club, and Mount Vernon Old Timers Car Club. Denver enjoyed playing golf and loved his family dearly.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Mr. Jon Henninger officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois.
