CENTRALIA — Margaret E. Breed, 100, of Centralia passed away Monday, June 13, 2022, at Centralia Fireside Nursing Home.

She was born March 16, 1922, in Ladd, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas Kelly and Elizabeth (Pacquer) Kelly. She married John Thomas Breed on September 17, 1951, and he preceded her in death on May 23, 1982.
Margaret is survived by two nephews: William Joe Kelly and wife Vivian of Centralia, James Kelly and wife Misty of Salem and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Thomas and Elizabeth Kelly, husband: John Breed, three brothers: Tom Kelly, William Kelly and Robert Kelly, sister-in-law: Belva Kelly, and two nephews: Bobby and Tommy Kelly.

Margaret was a graduate of the Centralia High School Class of 1940. She was a homemaker and had previously worked for Illinois Bell for several years. Margaret was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Centralia. She loved reading her Bible, and listening to religious tapes and she was very strong in her faith.

A graveside service for Margaret Breed will be held at 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2022, at Calvary Cemetery in Centralia. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Centralia Fireside Nursing Home Activity Fund and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois 62801, 618-532-3523, who is honored to be of service to Margaret’s family.
