MARION COUNTY — A second Centralia teen has been arrested on numerous child pornography offenses in just a few days.

Centralia police arrested 19-year-old Brent E. Morris Monday and transported him to the Marion County Jail for alleged child pornography. Morris was formally charged Tuesday in Marion County Court on four Class X felony charges of reproduction of child pornography and five counts of Class 2 felony possession of child pornography photos. Both claim the victims were under the age of 13

He was advised in court Tuesday of the charges against him and that if convicted on counts one through four, would have to serve those sentences consecutively.

Bond in the case was set at $500,000 with special conditions if released to have no contact with any individual under the age of 18 and to have no access to any device that can connect to the internet.

Morris indicated in court Tuesday he will hire a private attorney to represent him in the case. He’s next scheduled to appear in court on May 16 for a preliminary hearing and first appearance with hired counsel.

Morris is the second person charged this week in Marion County Court with child pornography offenses. 18-year-old Brett Page was charged Monday with nine Class X felonies for the reproduction of child pornography. His bond was set at $100,000 and he was released from the Marion County Jail after posting $10,000 cash bail.

Deputy Detective Bobby Wallace with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department says the arrests were made in conjunction with Homeland Security’s Cyber Crimes Task Force. Wallace adds the two cases are not connected and didn’t even take place in similar time frames.
