SANDOVAL, IL — A fire damaged a modular home in Sandoval late Monday night. Firefighters responded to reports of explosions and possible entrapment, finding flames on the exterior and attic. The Amanda Berkel family was unharmed. Crews quickly contained the fire, limiting it to the exterior and part of the attic, with some smoke damage inside. A small explosion was reported on the back porch, but the cause remains unclear. The State Fire Marshal is investigating, and the Red Cross is assisting the family.
