CARLYLE — A Wednesday fire at Governor’s Run Golf Course in Carlyle destroyed the cart barn and the club’s entire golf cart fleet.

Smoke from the blaze could be seen as far away as New Baden and parts of Centralia. Firefighters from multiple agencies responded to battle the flames.

No injuries were reported and the golf course has announced it has already arranged for a replacement fleet of golf carts to be delivered. The cart barn will also be replaced within the next few days and they plan to have everything back in operation for the start of the 2020 golf season.
