FRANKLIN COUNTY — A 22-year-old Benton man is in the Franklin County Jail today, after he was arrested Monday for allegedly striking his girlfriend and attacking the family dog with a machete.

Alexander Dylan Maynor was arrested on charges of domestic battery and animal cruelty, after Benton Police responded to a call that Maynor hit his girlfriend and also attacked the family dog with a machete, striking the animal at least twice causing major injuries.

Maynor is being held in the Franklin County Jail. His girlfriend obtained an order of protection yesterday against Maynor.
