MARION COUNTY — An early Saturday morning drug bust at a Central City home has landed five people in the Marion County Jail.

According to police reports, officers executed a search warrant on the North Marion Street home of 52-year-old Michael Mansker that had earlier been identified by Centralia police as a hub for drug trafficking.

Mansker was arrested along with 37-year-old Jermaine “Cory” Ingram, of East St. Louis, and 36-year-old Darnell “Mane” Williams, of Washington Park.

The three were formally charged this morning in Marion County Court with Class X felony manufacture with the intent to deliver cocaine within 1,000 feet of a church, Class X felony manufacture with the intent to deliver heroin within 1,000 feet of a church and Class 2 felony delivery of less than 5-greams methamphetamine.

A 26-year-old Vandalia man, Jarrad Simpson, was being held for alleged possession of a controlled substance and on an outstanding Fayette County misdemeanor warrant. He has not been formally charged at this time in Marion County.

A female inside the home was not arrested, but a 43-year-old man waiting outside for her, Daniel Sanders of Centralia, was arrested for alleged unlawful possession of ammunition with a revoked firearms owners identification card. Sanders posted $150 bond and was released.

Reports say a variety of drugs and paraphernalia were recovered from the home, including the drug Narcan that is used to revive those who have overdosed on heroin.

In addition, police reportedly recovered more than 15 grams of black tar heroin, China White heroin, Crystal ICE methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and cannabis.

Many of the drugs were reportedly packaged individually, with an estimated street value of the seized drugs placed at $1,000.

They also seized just under $1,000 in cash and 20-30 hypodermic needles, along with other drug paraphernalia.
Judge Mike McHaney signed the search warrant that was executed as a joint effort of Central City, Centralia, and Wamac Police. No other arrests are anticipated from this particular investigation.
