WILLIAMSON COUNTY — The body of a missing Murphysboro woman has been found, and the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office and the Williamson County Major Case Squad are investigating her death.

The body of 22-year-old Jeannie Schuur was located Thanksgiving morning by hunters in an area west of Cambria Road and south of Cardinal Lane inside the Crab Orchard National Wildlife Refuge property. Jeannie’s body was found on land, not in the lake.
Jeannie’s family reported her missing Monday, telling authorities no one had spoken with her since early Saturday morning when she walked away from a friend’s home on Modesto Road, near the intersection of Route 13 and Spillway Road.
A ground search Tuesday, and K-9 and air searches conducted Wednesday were completed without results.
An autopsy is scheduled for Friday. No additional information will be released today. The next available information will be released by the Williamson County Coroner’s Office after the autopsy.
