HARRISBURG — Four Saline County residents are in custody following a burglary Sunday at Gunslingers Gun Shop located on Karel Park Road just outside of Eldorado.
Saline County Sheriff Keith Brown says an investigation by the sheriff?s office, Eldorado Police Department and agents from the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms led to the arrests on Tuesday evening.
Brown says 29 handguns, 1 assault style rifle, numerous ammo magazines, ammunition and gun cases were recovered.
Arrested were 18-year-old William Jayden Emmons, 54-year-old Charles Edward Payne, 27-year-old Nathan D. Behrens and one juvenile.
They are all from Eldorado. Emmons is charged with burglary, aggravated possession of stolen firearms and possession of a stolen/converted vehicle.
Payne is charged with aggravated possession of stolen firearms. Behrens is charged with aggravated possession of stolen firearms.
And the juvenile is charged with burglary-possession of a stolen/converted vehicle. Brown says the burglary is still under investigation and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services assisted with the investigation.
