JEFFERSON COUNTY — Jefferson County State’s Attorney Doug Hoffman has released a list of individuals recently convicted and sentenced to prison in Jefferson County Court.

As we had earlier reported, 45-year-old Kevin P. Henry, of Mt. Vernon was sentenced to 7-years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after he pleaded guilty to a Class X charge of participation in the production of methamphetamine.

prisonHenry was arrested after detectives with the Mt. Vernon Police/Jefferson County Sheriff’s Joint Narcotics Division responded to a residence in Mt. Vernon on a report of meth manufacturing. During a search of the residence detectives located evidence of meth production.

A 54-year-old Chicago man, Kevin L. Pierce was sentenced to four years in prison, after he pleaded guilty to Class 3 felony theft.

On November 6, 2015, Pierce and two other individuals stole a wallet from a female customer at Cracker Barrel in Mt. Vernon.

A 32-year old Mt. Vernon man was sentenced to 3-years in prison after he pleaded guilty to A Class 3 charge unlawful possession with the intent to deliver methamphetamine.

Travis M. Kiselweski also pleaded guilty to Class 4 felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance and was sentenced to a consecutive two years in prison for a combined sentence of five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

On June 26, 2015, detectives with the Joint Narcotics Division found Kiselewski in possession of methamphetamine he intended to sell. Then on November 19, while free on bond, he was found in possession of heroin.

A 55-year-old Mt. Vernon woman was sentenced to 4-years in prison, after she was convicted by a jury of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, a Class 2 felony.

On February 25, 2014, Betty Henry sold a large quantity of crack cocaine to a confidential source working with the Joint Narcotics Division.

A 19-year-old Mt. Vernon man pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of meth manufacturing materials, a Class 2 felony, and ws sentenced to 3 years in prison.

Tonnie Pauley was previously sentenced to probation on that offense, by after being found in possession of meth manufacturing precursors while on release, he was again tried and sentenced.

A 24-year-old Marion man was sentenced to 2-years in prison, after he pleaded guilty to Class 3 felony aggravated battery.

On September 26, 2015, while in custody of the Jefferson County Jail on another charge, Justin T. Williams bit the arm of a correctional officer during an incident.

A 34-year-old Mt. Vernon woman was sentenced to one-year in prison, after she pleaded guilty to Class 4 felony unlawful purchase of a meth precursor without a prescription.

On March 11, 2015, detectives of the Joint Narcotics Division investigated the purchase of pseudoephedrine, a meth precursor, on multiple occasions by April D. Scott.

Scott has a prior meth-related conviction, which requires her to obtain a prescription prior to purchasing pseudoephedrine.

And a 33-year-old Coulterville man was sentenced to one-year in the Illinois Department of Corrections after he pleaded guilty to Class 4 felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

On December 23, 2014, John A. Berlin was stopped by officers with the Mt. Vernon Police Department due to suspicious behavior in public. He was found to be in possession of cocaine. His one-year sentence will run consecutively to a 3-year prison sentence imposed in Franklin County Court.
