Travis Stewart was arrested in April 2015 following an altercation at a Vandalia home where he fired a 12 gage shotgun inside the home, blowing a large hole in a cabinet door and then firing at the victim’s fleeing vehicle.

Stewart was originally charged with Class X felony attempted murder and three counts Class 1 felony aggravated discharge of a firearm at an occupied vehicle.

He pleaded guilty Thursday to one of the Class 1 charges in exchange for the other three charges being dismissed.

He was sentenced to 36 months probation and 11 days in jail, with credit for 11 days served. He was also ordered to pay nearly $9,000 in fines, fees and costs.

The $10,000 cash bond Stewart posted days after his arrest was attributed to his fines and he was returned the more than $1,300 difference.
