HAZELWOOD, Mo. — A 37-year-old woman shot and killed over the weekend in Hazelwood, Mo., has been identified as a Centralia woman.
According to authorities, Emma (King) Wallace was fatally shot around 2 a.m. Sunday, while riding in the front passenger seat

of a Jeep, when shots were fired from a Mercedes-Benz that had pulled alongside the Jeep on Interstate 270 near North Lindbergh Boulevard.
The Mercedes was recovered a short time after the shooting. It had been abandoned on Target Drive off new Halls Ferry Road. Police said the Mercedes had been taken in a carjacking around 10:30 p.m. Saturday at a Sauget gas station.
Two men and a woman in their 20s and 30s were riding in the Jeep with Wallace and wounded in the gunfire. The male driver drove all four to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
The Major Case Squad is investigating the shooting, but at this time police say they believe the victims had just left a bar and grill on North Lindbergh Boulevard. Detectives are investigating if the shooting may have been connected with something that happened at Jay’s Classic Bar & Grill.
