ODIN — The Odin Police Department is investigating a break-in at the Casey’s General Store on West Poplar Street in Odin.

According to Chief Joe Nix, around 2:51 a.m. a subject threw a brick through the window of the store, entered the store and took cigarettes and tobacco before fleeing. Nix says his department is also investigating approximately five other overnight incidents in which bricks were thrown through the windows of vehicles.

He says the incident at Casey’s is likely connected to the damaged vehicles as the bricks appear to have been taken from the same location, but nothing was reportedly taken from the vehicles.

The subject from the Casey’s break-in is described as a male wearing an orange cap, Cabella’s shirt and pants. Anyone with information about the Casey’s General Store break-in, or the damaged vehicles is asked to contact the Marion County Sheriff’s Office at 548-2141. The Village of Odin is offering a reward for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
