URBANA, Ill. (AP) — Authorities say a Danville man with several drunken driving convictions is due in court again next month.
William E. Grimes faces aggravated driving under the influence. It’s a Class X felony stemming from an April 15 crash that left him and three other people injured.
The (Champaign) News-Gazette reported on Friday that he is due in court on May 4 after he posted $300 and was released from jail on Monday. He could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted.
Authorities allege it’s Grimes’ sixth DUI case with five prior convictions from Vermilion County dating back to 1988.
It was immediately unclear if Grimes had an attorney.
